Most adventurers are traffic. Master Adventurers are appointments: they arrive with a preference, a small story, and usually something to collect. The skill is not memorising a list — it is knowing where the game already tells you the answer.
The three tiers
Adventurers are categorised as novice, expert and master. The tier is not cosmetic; the higher it is, the more money or reputation the visit produces. That single sentence explains why a week spent turning away masters to make room for novices is a poor trade, even if the bed count looks healthy.
The tiers also affect what the goals ask for. Late-game objectives reference expert and master visitors specifically — one Early Access hotfix even stopped quests that needed expert or master visits from appearing during the heatwave week, because they were nearly impossible to complete.
Where a master’s preference is written
The character information window names the guest’s favourite facilities and identifies associated quests. That is the whole lookup:
- Open the guest panel when the adventurer is on the map or at the inn.
- Read the favourite facilities list.
- Check whether the same panel flags a quest.
- Match the facility you already have, rather than building a new one on a hunch.
The 2025 update that added quest markers made this easier by marking guests who should receive one.
What each new master brings
The March 2026 devlog describes the design intent for the 1.0 additions, and it is unusually concrete:
| Element | Detail |
|---|---|
| Events | 5 unique events per master |
| Memento | One personal memento each |
| Facility | One preferred facility each |
That makes a master a small chapter of their own rather than a rare visitor. If you see the same master across visits, the pattern is intentional: the five events are how the story is presented.
Mementos: trophies and gifts
The memento system arrived in the October 2025 update with two halves:
- Trophies unlock by completing special goals.
- Gifts unlock by increasing rapport with a customer.
So a master can be a goal, a relationship, or both. The gift half is the one that rewards keeping a specific facility in good condition, because rapport builds through the visits you host.
Collection tracking, and the 1.0 fix
The Adventurer’s Collection lives under Extras. At launch, the related achievements only counted entries within a single save slot, which meant two playthroughs could each hold half the collection and unlock nothing.
Hotfix 1.0.0.261028.1 changed the rule: collection achievements now count entries across all save slots, and if the conditions are already met, the achievement unlocks when you open Extras > Collection from the title screen.
That fix matters for anyone replaying chapters or using the official chapter 1-9 save. The achievements page has the wider picture.
What is not published
No released material checked here lists every master by name with their preferred facility, and the 16 figure is the number added in 1.0 rather than the size of the roster. A “complete master list” would need a source this site does not have; the guest panel in your own save is the accurate answer.
